Viton O-Ring (02037), Universal Steam/Water Valve Seal

This 02037 o-ring is Mairali's own valve seal, cross-referenced by nearly every major Italian machine builder, Astoria/CMA, Wega, Rancilio, Faema, La Cimbali, La Marzocco and more all used this identical seal somewhere in their steam and water valve stacks. It's molded in Viton (FKM), which holds up to hot water and steam far longer than the general-purpose EPDM o-rings some shops substitute in a pinch.

INSTALLATION

Simple DIY job, pull the old seal, lubricate, and seat the new one by hand; no special tools required.

PRO TIPS

• Always dress this o-ring with a food-safe silicone lubricant (we stock Molykote 111) before reinstalling, it prevents the Viton from galling against the valve stem and roughly doubles service life versus installing it dry.
• If a steam or water valve only weeps when hot, this Viton o-ring (not the EPDM M_71) is usually the fix, Viton holds its seal at steam temperatures where EPDM starts to take a compression set.
