Moderate difficulty — requires disassembling the lever piston assembly; recommend a technician comfortable with lever group rebuilds.

PRO TIPS

  • Inspect the sleeve's bore for scoring or an oval (out-of-round) wear pattern — this is what causes a lever machine to lose brewing pressure gradually over time even when the gaskets are fine.
  • Replace the piston seals/gaskets at the same time as the sleeve; reusing worn seals against a fresh sleeve bore shortens the life of both.
