INSTALLATION
Best handled by an experienced technician, since the steam valve packing typically needs to be reset or replaced at the same time.
PRO TIPS
- If the steam knob feels gritty or won't hold position after replacing the stem, check the packing gland nut torque before assuming the new stem is defective — over- or under-tightened packing is the more common culprit.
