Pairing new sealing surfaces with a fresh screen and mounting screw at the same time keeps you from reopening the group twice for parts you should have swapped together.

INSTALLATION

Straightforward DIY project for anyone comfortable removing a group head screen — no special tools beyond a screwdriver and a small pick to seat the new gasket.

PRO TIPS

  • Replace all three pieces at once — swapping just the gasket while leaving a glazed screen or a stripped screw in place is the #1 reason techs get called back out within a month.
  • Seat the conical gasket with the wide face toward the boiler side; installed backwards it won't seal evenly and you'll get channeling on one side of the puck.
